Three Key Activities Successfully Completed in the Erasmus+ KA2 Project „A Peace to Share“

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first three activities of our Erasmus+ KA2 project „A Peace to Share“, implemented in partnership between IAYSP EUME (Austria) and Laial e.V. (Germany). These activities strengthened the capacities of youth workers through international cooperation, the exchange of innovative methodologies, and practical learning experiences focused on peacebuilding, inclusion, and active participation.

Online Preparation Workshop

The project officially began with a two-day online preparation workshop that brought together the project teams from both partner organisations. The workshop established a common understanding of the project’s objectives, expected results, and implementation plan.

During the sessions, participants:

  • explored the project’s SMART objectives and monitoring framework;
  • developed a shared work plan and assigned responsibilities;
  • agreed on communication and project management tools;
  • discussed Erasmus+ visibility requirements and Youthpass recognition;
  • jointly planned the upcoming study visits in Vienna and Berlin.

The workshop laid a solid foundation for effective cooperation and ensured that all participants were well prepared for the international mobility activities.

Study Visit in Vienna, Austria

The first study visit took place in Vienna from 12–18 April 2026, bringing together youth workers from Austria and Germany for an intensive week of learning, reflection, and exchange.

The programme combined theoretical learning with practical visits and focused on innovative approaches to peace education. Participants:

  • strengthened their cooperation through team-building and introductory sessions;
  • participated in the Peace Designer Training, exploring the methodologies of the S!NERGY Forum, Peace Projects, and peace education;
  • visited the Austrian Red Cross to learn about volunteer engagement and youth participation;
  • explored international perspectives on youth engagement and peacebuilding through activities connected to Vienna’s international organisations;
  • reflected on their learning and worked together to develop workshop concepts and educational materials for the next phase of the project.

The study visit enabled participants to exchange good practices, adapt successful educational tools to their local contexts, and strengthen their competences in designing inclusive, participatory peace education activities.

Study Visit in Berlin, Germany

The second mobility took place in Berlin from 10–16 May 2026, where p

articipants explored innovative approaches to inclusive youth work, community participation, and social transformation.

Throughout the programme, participants:

  • learned about Laial e.V.’s approaches to youth work and community engagement;
  • participated in workshops on social-ecological transformation and its application in youth work;
  • explored the concept of lifeworld-oriented social work, with a particular focus on working with migrants and young people with fewer opportunities;
  • exchanged experiences with youth organisations and community initiatives promoting inclusion and participation;
  • documented new educational methods and collaborated on developing the content of the upcoming local workshops in Austria and Germany.

The Berlin study visit provided valuable opportunities to strengthen participants‘ professional competences, exchange innovative methodologies, and deepen the partnership between the two organisations.

Looking Ahead

These three completed activities have established a strong foundation for the next phase of „A Peace to Share.“ The knowledg

e, educational methods, and partnerships developed during the preparation workshop and study visits will now be transferred into local workshops, where participants will engage young people in peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship.

We sincerely thank all participants, facilitators, partner o

rganisations, and ho

st institutions for their dedication, openness, and hospitality. Their contributions hav

e made these activities a meaningful success and reinforced our shared commitment to building more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities through youth work.
